Jasper Cade waited for his lunch at the window.

He watched all the other twenty somethings on Belmont merrily roll along, enjoying life. He wanted to be among them but had no idea what it meant to hang out or to slack, or even to chill. Homeschooled by survivalist parents in the mountains, Jasper grew up peerless. Their recent death in an auto accident, which coincided with his 18th birthday, left him homeless and alone. Jasper now lived with his Aunt Hilda. The dank smell of sandalwood inscense and weed now permated his clothes thanks to her.

"Just beans, huh?"

The cute brunette waitress place his order down in front of him and smiled. She took the plastic number 20 from in front of Jasper, brushing his shoulder in the process. Jasper leaned away, awkwardly.

"Let me know if I can get you anything else," she said before taking a step away.
"What's an iPod?" Asked Japser

The waitress smiled.
