I found out about her dislike of chocolate but only after I baked the cake. Marie was a good sport about it but then again she did have ample opportunity to advise me prior to pasty preparation. I didn't call her for a while after that and she got the message. Had I known her birthday dinner would be our second date I wouldn't have bothered in the first place.
